Karawang district is one of the district in the nothem coast granary of west java province, Karawang is one the Pajajaran is a city on the river ports citarum. the first regent is Adipati Kertabumi IV is known as Singaperbangsa. at the time of Indonesian revolution, Karawang is one the of areas that became the arena of the struggle againts the dutch, this independence proclamation toward Soekarno and Moh. During the british rule 1811-1816 years Karawang district was abolished and only revived around 1820 and first regent Surianata.
